About The Position

Camden’s Maintenance Apprentice Program provides an introduction to residential maintenance operations at a Camden community. Apprentices work under the supervision of a maintenance supervisor and alongside the property management team, developing hands-on maintenance skills and learning Camden’s culture. The program covers residential maintenance, customer service, and community policies and procedures. The 6–12 week program concludes with an evaluation; apprentices who qualify may have the opportunity to be hired into a full-time maintenance role with Camden.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, an HVAC/CAMT program, or have equivalent residential maintenance experience.
• Demonstrate basic technical knowledge related to apartment maintenance.
• Read and write English at an intermediate level to read diagrams, meters, and instructions.
• Have normal hearing, vision, color discrimination, and depth perception for proper operation of machines and equipment.
• Be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Learn the basics of the refrigeration cycle.
• Learn HVAC repair and troubleshooting.
• Perform or learn apartment make-readies.
• Learn pool maintenance.
• Conduct or learn apartment inspections.
• Learn Camden’s culture, management philosophy, policies, and procedures.
• Provide customer service by taking requests, comments, and concerns and resolving them quickly.
• Answer questions from potential residents.
