Operate machines that automatically address, weigh, and tie printed publications—such as magazines, catalogs, and pamphlets—into bundles for mailing by ZIP code. Review manufacturing instructions to determine the type and size of the publication scheduled for mailing. Adjust equipment components, including guides, rollers, a loose card inserter, weighing machine, and tying arm, using a rule and hand tools. Record production by customer name and ZIP code, as well as machine downtime caused by malfunctions or lack of work. Process and ship outgoing small-package parcels, including UPS, Federal Express, and DHL shipments. This role requires knowledge of standard equipment setups, adjustments, and operating characteristics, along with the skill to make standard adjustments and operate equipment. The employee must be able to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments according to individual job requirements and equipment capabilities. Adjustments are typically routine, and the need for them is readily apparent. The schedule is Saturday through Monday, 5 PM to 5 AM, with a $3.00 differential.
