About The Position

The Machinist operates CNC and manual machines to repair jet engine aerospace parts or create tooling based on sketches, drawings, and work instructions from engineers or a supervisor. The role may also involve production work on various CNC machines. Additional training on specific machines may be provided to candidates with relevant experience or skills. This position is based at PROENERGY’s facility in Sedalia, Missouri, and reports to the Machinist Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma and a two-year technical trade degree, completion of a machinist apprenticeship program, or on-the-job training; applicants using on-the-job training must be able to discuss or demonstrate acquired skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. work authorization; candidates requiring sponsorship for a work-authorized visa will not be considered.
Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience with one or more of the following: Manual Lathe and Bridgeport; Electrostatic Discharge Machines; CNC Vertical Machining Centers; Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL); CNC Horizontal Boring Machine; CNC Horizontal Mill with pallet changer; CNC Lathe; Fanuc Controls; Siemens Controls; or interpreting G and M code.

Responsibilities

Use setup tools such as edge finders, indicators, and dial gauges.
Perform setups on various manual and CNC machines according to written or verbal instructions.
Use measuring equipment to support quality requirements.
Review and interpret complex work instructions, processes, and blueprints, asking clarifying questions as needed.
Plan, coordinate, and complete projects ranging from simple to complex, depending on skill set.
Maintain machine and operator conformance of production parts.
Communicate discrepancies and non-conformances to the immediate lead.
