About The Position

FM Industries is a manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print precision-machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings, supporting customers from prototype through production. The CNC Lathe Machinist 2 sets up and runs repeat or proven parts of simple to high complexity with minimal direction from an area lead or supervisor. This position works the weekend day shift on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Shifts are 12 hours, with overtime after 8 hours and a 15% shift differential.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience.
Knowledge of CNC programming and G and M code.
Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices.
Demonstrated ability to operate computer numerical control machines.

Nice To Haves

Enrollment in vocational education or completion of a vocational education program.
Four years of formal apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

Set up and run repeat or proven parts of simple to high complexity with minimal direction.
Use shop paperwork and procedures, including updates, signatures, and stamps; count and label quantities; and handle non-conformance-related activities.
Upload and download tool programs using DNC communications.
Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistics.
Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
