Machinist, Lathe 2 - Swing Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. They provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This position is for a CNC Lathe Machinist 2 on the Swing Shift (Monday-Friday, 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM). The role involves setting up and running repeat or proven parts of simple to high complexity with minimal direction. Responsibilities include utilizing and updating shop paper procedures, managing DNC communications for tool program uploads and downloads, inspecting and measuring parts for statistical maintenance, and reading blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ work experience
- Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines
Nice To Haves
- Enrolled in or vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred
Responsibilities
- Set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to high complexity with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor
- Utilize shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
- Responsible for DNC communications upload and download tool program
- Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistic
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
