Machinist, Lathe 2 - Weekends Day Shift w/15% shift differential
About The Position
FM Industries is a manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print manufacturing, precision-machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. The company supports customers from prototype through production. The CNC Lathe Machinist 2 sets up and operates repeat or proven parts ranging from simple to highly complex, with minimal direction from an area lead or supervisor. The role follows shop paperwork procedures, including updates, signatures, and stamps; counts and labels parts; and handles non-conformance-related activities. It also involves uploading and downloading tool programs through DNC communications, inspecting and measuring parts, and reading blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts to verify specifications. This position is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., working 12-hour shifts. Overtime applies after eight hours, and the position includes a 15% shift differential.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and G & M code.
- Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices.
- Demonstrated ability to operate computer numerical control machines.

- Enrollment in vocational education or completion of vocational education.
- Four years of formal apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
