About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Machinist/Fabricator for the 2nd shift. This role involves working with various materials and equipment to machine, fabricate, and finish production turbine engine parts. The position requires performing bench assembly, finishing operations, and braze fabrication, including assembly, sizing, application of braze paste/tape/powder, and resistance tack welding. Additionally, the role includes performing light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies, reoperating rejected parts, and performing routine equipment servicing. The Machinist/Fabricator may also be assigned tasks not specifically listed to support department objectives and develop skills, and may be required to obtain and maintain specific licenses and certifications.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing /industrial/aerospace experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information, and verbal instructions.
  • Obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production turbine engine parts.
  • Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned using a variety of handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform braze fabrication operations such as assembly, sizing, application of braze paste, tape or powder and resistance tack welding.
  • Perform light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies and reoperate parts which have been rejected.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions (such as operator’s checklist) for upkeep to ensure equipment operates properly.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
