About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Machinist/Fabricator for its onsite production team in East Hartford, Connecticut. The role involves machining, fabricating, and finishing production turbine engine parts using operation sheets, drawings, computer-generated information, and verbal instructions. The employee obtains the required equipment, tools, and gauges and performs assigned manufacturing and finishing operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

Perform bench assembly and finishing operations using handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment.
Carry out braze fabrication operations, including assembly, sizing, applying braze paste, tape, or powder, and resistance tack welding.
Perform light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies and rework rejected parts according to prescribed repair instructions and standard procedures.
Check dimensions using fixed and variable measuring instruments.
Record results and enter information into computer data systems as required.
Perform routine servicing in the assigned area, following procedures and operator checklists to maintain equipment and ensure it operates properly.
Assist with new-part process tryouts, repairs, and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of the role.
