About The Position

The Machine Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, troubleshooting, and operating production equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures machines are properly configured to meet production specifications, quality standards, and operational efficiency targets. In addition to performing machine set-ups and changeovers, this position actively operates equipment during production runs, monitors performance, addresses process issues, and supports continuous improvement efforts to maximize uptime and throughput.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent bending, reaching and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment safely

Nice To Haves

  • 2-years associates degree preferred
  • Experience with braiders, coilers, laser welders, oven and reflow machines preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine set-ups and changeovers according to production schedules.
  • Configure equipment settings, tooling, and machine parameter.
  • Verify machine readiness prior to production start-up.
  • Operate production equipment to meet production schedule after set-up completion.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues following standard operating procedures.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and equipment checks, including but not limited to performance lubrication, cleaning, adjustments and minor part replacement.
  • Complete required production, quality, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to read technical drawings including but not limited too: product specifications, material specifications, workers orders.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product quality.
  • Communicate equipment issues, downtime, or production concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Train others as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
