About The Position

The Setup Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently configuring slitter arbors to achieve precise slit widths that meet customer specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk on a concrete floor for the duration of the shift.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line, including spacers, slitter knives, and stripper rings.
Interpret part numbers (PNs) and work instructions to determine required slit widths for customer orders.
Utilize setup software and PN data to generate accurate, shimless setups.
Measure and verify product dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
Perform and document daily calibration checks on measuring instruments.
Input required widths and parameters into the system to generate setup configurations.
Determine appropriate tooling clearances using provided clearance charts.
Load and thread master coils through the slitter head.
Band finished material as required.
Maintain 5S standards and overall housekeeping within the work area.
Begin cross-training toward the Chief Operator role.
