About The Position

Techmer PM is seeking a Machine Operator at its Dalton, Georgia facility to operate key manufacturing equipment and produce plastic compounds for specialty customer applications. The operator works safely by following standard operating procedures and protecting themselves, coworkers, and the facility. The role involves process measurement, control, and improvement, as well as learning and understanding operating parameters to ensure that only in-specification, high-quality products are delivered to customers. The regular schedule is third shift, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Initial training takes place on the current rotating shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Thursday. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus a shift differential. Hourly employees are paid weekly.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 55 pounds frequently.
Ability to learn the functionality of plant equipment.
Strong communication skills.
Basic knowledge of operating an extruder or mixing equipment.
General mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot problems.

Nice To Haves

Two years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Extrusion experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

Operate key manufacturing equipment to produce plastic compounds for customer applications.
Follow standard operating procedures to work safely and protect coworkers and the facility.
Perform process measurement, control, and improvement in assigned tasks.
Learn and apply operating parameters to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
Learn to operate pre- and post-production equipment and processes, including drying, bagging, and grinding.
Troubleshoot equipment or process problems.
