About The Position

Techmer PM is seeking a Machine Operator at its Dalton, Georgia facility. The role operates key manufacturing equipment to produce plastic compounds for specialized customer applications. The operator works safely by following standard operating procedures and participates in process measurement, control, and improvement. The role requires learning operating parameters to ensure that products meet specifications and quality standards. The regular schedule is 1st shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Initial training takes place on the current shift, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour and may be higher depending on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 55 pounds frequently.
Strong communication skills.
Basic knowledge of operating an extruder or mixing equipment.
Ability to learn plant equipment functionality and pre- and post-production operations.
General mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.

Nice To Haves

Two years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
Extrusion experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Operate key manufacturing equipment to produce plastic compounds for specialized customer applications.
Follow standard operating procedures to protect oneself, coworkers, and the facility.
Participate in process measurement, control, and improvement in assigned tasks.
Learn key operating parameters and ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
Learn pre- and post-production equipment and operations, including drying, bagging, and grinding.
Troubleshoot equipment or process problems.
