About The Position

The Machine Operator performs basic machinist duties under supervision, working with mills and lathes and operating complex machines. The role includes preventive maintenance and related work to ensure products meet exacting specifications and standards. The position is part-time and is in the Manufacturing-Machining Lathes department. It reports to the CNC Supervisor.

Requirements

Some experience in metal works is preferred.
Knowledge of principles and methods for Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)-aided milling and grinding.

Responsibilities

Load and run quality-approved parts.
Check part dimensions and visual characteristics as instructed.
Maintain an organized work area and follow directions accurately and consistently.
Perform machinist work involving fabrication of specialized parts while maintaining strict tolerance requirements.
Conduct preventive maintenance on devices and systems.
Record machine data for reporting and record-keeping.
Contact supervisory personnel when raw materials, events, or finished products do not conform to required standards.
Prepare documents needed for inventory or audits.
Compute workload capacity and running time.
Communicate with establishment representatives to resolve problems such as damages, shortages, and specification nonconformance.
Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Track and upload appropriate data into the MRP program.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.
