Machine Operator – 1st Shift – Zeeland, MI
About The Position
Tyson Foods is hiring Machine Operators for its meat-processing facility in Zeeland, Michigan. The role operates machinery to maintain product flow through production, verifies that the correct ingredients and supplies are used, and sanitizes equipment. Operators monitor and adjust machine settings, notify a supervisor when maintenance may be needed, and follow safety requirements and Tyson policies and procedures. Positions may be assigned to any department in the facility. Available operator roles, depending on staffing needs, include Extended Run (Sanitation), Machine Operator, Oven Operator, Relief Operator, Spice Room Operator, and Utility Operator. Pay starts at $22.15 per hour, and benefits are effective on day one. Applicants are considered for operator-level openings, with pay level determined by the availability of relevant labor-level work. The location is not accepting rehires.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on the application.
- Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels.
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds; standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching; standing 8–10 hours on hard floors; repetitive motions; and working in cold, damp conditions and on slippery surfaces.
