About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring a Forklift Operator for its Zeeland, Michigan meat-processing facility. The position is responsible for transporting and/or unloading materials in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. Work may be assigned in Shipping, Receiving, or Production. The listed starting wage is $22.15 per hour, with a $1-per-hour shift premium for second- and third-shift positions. Benefits are effective on day one. Applicants may be considered for operator-level openings and, depending on availability, may select among Extended Run, Forklift Operator, and Order Selector Operator roles. Leveling and pay are determined based on the availability of relevant labor-level work. The location is not accepting rehires. Relocation assistance is not available. Certain roles may require a background check, and hourly applicants must complete an additional task after submitting an application to provide information for consideration.

Requirements

At least 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on the application.
Proficiency in reading and writing.
Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels.
Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach as required.
Ability to stand for 8–10 hours on hard floors and perform repetitive motions as required.
Ability to work in a cold environment around the mid-30s Fahrenheit, in a damp environment, and on slippery walking surfaces.
