About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring a Forklift Operator for a meat-processing facility in Zeeland, Michigan. The role is responsible for transporting and/or unloading materials promptly while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. Team members may work in Shipping, Receiving, or Production. The position starts at $22.15 per hour, with a $1 per hour shift premium for second- and third-shift positions. Benefits are effective on the first day. Applicants may be considered for operator-level openings. Available forklift-related roles may include Extended Run, Forklift Operator, and Order Selector Operator, depending on job availability. Leveling and pay are determined by the availability of a relevant labor-level position. The work takes place in a cold, damp meat-processing environment, with temperatures in the mid-30s Fahrenheit and slippery walking surfaces. The position involves standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, and standing on hard floors for 8–10 hours. The successful candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 3 months of work experience with the same employer listed on the application.
Proficiency in reading and writing.
Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels.
Ability and willingness to lift up to 40 pounds and perform the stated physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
