About The Position

Donaldson is hiring a Machine Operator in Dixon, Illinois, to produce pleated media within specifications and supply it for filter assembly. The role involves operating and understanding media-pleating machines and fixtures, maintaining quality and production standards, completing assigned checks and documentation, and performing preventative maintenance. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate and interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to operate computer systems.
• Ability to use gauges, calipers, indicators, scales, and tape measures.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience.
• Previous pleating machine operating experience.
• Previous setup experience.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and understand the operations and machines involved in the media-pleating process.
• Recognize and understand the functions and capabilities of pleating fixtures.
• Pleat media within the acceptable quality and quantity standards stated in prints and/or route sheets.
• Communicate with material handlers to ensure the correct media is supplied to the line promptly.
• Perform assigned quality checks and tests.
• Follow first-piece and setup sheets.
• Complete applicable paperwork, including scrap reports, media usage sheets, media testing sheets, and oil runs.
• Monitor production online, note production-rate variations between pleating and potting, and notify the Team Leader when a variation causes the pleater rate to decrease.
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures, and use designated personal protective equipment as required.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned to support Donaldson’s mission, vision, and strategic plan objectives.
