About The Position

Set up and operate assigned machines to perform diversified operations and complete numerous tasks with minimum supervision. The role involves interpreting blueprints and processes, planning machine setups and operations, machining parts through a range of operations, and using precision measuring tools and gauges to ensure work meets print specifications. Operators may run multiple machines when time cycles permit, load and unload machines, and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Three years of experience.
Experienced forklift driver.
Ability to perform the tasks needed to set up and operate machine tools for diversified operations with minimum supervision.
Ability to work from complex blueprints and job specifications, including performing exacting setups, selecting feeds and speeds, determining operation sequences, installing tooling and attachments, and adjusting stops and attachments.
Extensive experience and considerable knowledge of machining technology, mathematics, tooling applications, and the machining characteristics of materials.
Prioritize safety and follow regulations.
Organizational skills to maintain an orderly and clean work area.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and processes to plan machine setup and operation.
Perform machining operations including facing, turning, boring, drilling, chucking, reaming, grooving, undercutting, broaching, keyway cutting, honing, tapering, grinding, tapping, thread cutting, lapping, shaping, and other machining operations.
Use required precision measuring tools and gauges to ensure dimensions meet print specifications.
Operate two or more machines when time cycles permit and check work to maintain quality.
Operate multi-machine tools, which may include gear cutters, automatic and semi-automatic machine tools, and other tools with machine-controlled work cycles.
Load and unload machines.
Perform related duties as assigned.
