About The Position

Cleveland Steel Container, a World Class Steel Pail and Can Manufacturing company, is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and customer-oriented individual that has a positive attitude and shares the values of our company culture, which is built around teamwork, family, honest communication and producing desirable results for our Detroit, MI manufacturing facility. This Line Lead Technician is responsible for supporting can-making production operations by setting up, operating, and monitoring manufacturing equipment to ensure products are made safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. The role includes preparing equipment for production runs, supplying necessary materials, and adjusting as needed to maintain consistent output and product specifications. The individual will monitor equipment performance throughout the process, identify and report any quality issues or operational concerns, and assist team members with basic production tasks and quality checks. Success in this role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and a willingness to learn equipment, processes, and quality requirements to support overall production goals.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing machine operation experience, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
  • Ability to follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and operational instructions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to supporting production needs and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Ability to set up, operate, and adjust manufacturing equipment and tooling to meet production, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Capability to supply production lines with required materials and components to support manufacturing schedules
  • Experience or ability to monitor equipment performance and production parameters to ensure consistent quality output
  • Ability to identify and communicate operational or quality issues promptly to supervisory personnel
  • Willingness to support and guide team members on basic production processes and quality checks
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures and manufacturing guidelines
  • Willingness to learn product specifications, production processes, machine operations, and quality standards related to the manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production setting
  • Assist with product packaging and preparation for shipment
  • Support inventory activities and cycle counts
  • Participate in installation or setup of new equipment
  • Assist with receiving and handling raw materials
