TrueNorth Steel is seeking a Machine Operator Team Lead to direct and guide the machine operations at its Lubbock, TX location. This opportunity is for experienced machine operators, welders, or material handlers who are looking to set an example for their peers. Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of machine operating/welding/material handling experience
  • Previous supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervising the cutting (machine operating) crew at the site level
  • Report directly to the Shop Supervisor and carry out tasks and directions given by senior site leadership
  • Approve timecards
  • Approve requests for time off of work
  • Recommend disciplinary action when appropriate
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Operate CNC machinery at a highly skilled and knowledgeable level
  • Troubleshoot machinery and train employees on machinery
  • Directly supervise designated employees
  • Perform/assist with employee performance evaluations for area of responsibility
  • Verify employee timecard
  • Train and assist assigned employees
  • Follow all company safety and quality requirements
  • Communicate with team members verbally and non-verbally
  • Work efficiently in all forms of weather (wind, heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed
  • Prompt and dependable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
