About The Position

This role involves operating fabrication machinery and other metalworking equipment. The Machine Operator I will be responsible for setting up and monitoring machinery, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of finished parts. Safety and collaboration are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Has a fundamental understanding of metal types and basic fabrication processes (e.g., cutting, measuring, and simple assembly).
  • Can safely operate basic hand tools (e.g., grinders, saws, manual cutters).
  • Previous experience operating metal fabrication machinery preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and quality inspection processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fabrication machinery and other metalworking equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on equipment.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and consistency, using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and resolve issues.
