About The Position

STANLEY® Engineered Fastening is hiring a Heat Treat Operator for its team in Montpelier, Indiana. The role operates heat-treating equipment and supports production by loading and unloading furnaces, moving work, inspecting completed parts, and maintaining gauges. The listed schedule is second shift, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, with training on first shift. Pay is $25.97 per hour plus a 5% shift differential. A sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $250 at the start and $250 after 90 days.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Ability to apply rational systems principles to solve practical problems and handle concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
Follow housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines.
Ability to operate a torque wrench and/or machines.
Basic mathematical ability, including addition, subtraction, and division of units of measurement.
Practical application of proportion and geometric construction.
Ability to maintain orderly workstations and the tool crib area.
Must be able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Start up and shut down heat-treat equipment, including initially setting and adjusting controls and gauges.
Move work to the charge end of furnaces.
Load and unload work from furnaces.
Check and adjust controls and gauges.
Inspect completed parts and maintain inspection records.
Clean and maintain necessary gauges.
Work in other departments as directed by the supervisor and as needed.
Operate PIV as needed to move part bins and load machines.
