The Heat Treat Furnace Operator operates and maintains a heat-treat furnace used to harden and temper steel fasteners. This role works with a small team and requires self-motivation and dependability. Mechanically inclined applicants are welcome, but mechanical inclination is not required. The operator maintains furnace controls to meet process requirements; inspects parts before and after heat treatment; reads and records computer controls, including the carbon controller; documents nonconforming parts and issues rejection notices or rework orders as needed; maintains inspection documentation and follows lot-tracing protocols; and participates in 5S housekeeping. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The work may involve hot, oily, and noisy conditions and requires wearing protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and the company. Applicants must be able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day, commit to perfect attendance during the training schedule, and pass a drug screen and background check.
