About The Position

The Machine Operator 2 is responsible for operating the Big Red sealer. The role involves preparing and operating sealing equipment, loading and unloading products and packaging materials, checking product quality, and maintaining production pace and standards. The operator works with a Machine Technician to resolve equipment problems and completes production and scrap documentation. The role also requires following safety requirements and practicing 5Ss.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• One year of machine operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Big Red sealer.
• Use a computer to load printer software as needed.
• Set up and verify the weigh scale.
• Load and unload sealing equipment with product and packaging material.
• Recognize and respond to equipment problems, making adjustments as required.
• Inspect and verify product according to quality standards.
• Work with the Machine Technician to resolve equipment problems.
• Clean equipment as required to ensure proper operation.
• Break down scrap packages.
• Work effectively within small teams.
• Accurately complete scrap tickets and the daily production sheet.
• Accurately update the hourly goal board.
• Maintain production pace and standards.
• Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area.
• Practice 5Ss.
