About The Position

The 3rd Shift Machine Operator - 2 understands and operates assigned equipment on the North side of the plant, ensuring products are packaged according to Mrs. Gerry’s quality and safety standards. The role follows food-safety and operating programs, prepares and cleans machinery, monitors equipment, checks product packaging and specifications, and boxes and palletizes finished products. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, starting at 10:00 PM year-round, with a varying end time. Work schedule changes may occasionally occur due to production or training needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, 1–3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend English-language documentation, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to obtain a forklift and/or pallet jack license.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Learn and follow all MGK HACCP, SQF, SOP, and SSOP programs.
Comply with all food-safety procedures.
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Set up, sanitize, wash down, and break down machinery according to standard operating procedures.
Operate and monitor machines for efficiency and proper operation.
Ensure lids, containers, and box labels correspond to the product being filled.
Ensure each salad container meets the product’s weight specifications.
Verify dates and product names on products and boxes.
Use and adjust metal detectors.
Box and palletize products.
Perform other duties as assigned.
