About The Position

The Machine Operator 2 operates the Big Red sealer. The role includes setting up and running the equipment, loading and unloading products and packaging materials, checking product quality, and responding to equipment issues. The operator works with a Machine Technician to resolve equipment problems and helps maintain production pace, safety, and 5S standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of machine operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Big Red sealer.
• Use a computer to load printer software as needed.
• Set up and verify the weigh scale.
• Load and unload sealing equipment with product and packaging material.
• Recognize and respond to equipment problems, making adjustments as required.
• Inspect and verify products according to quality standards.
• Work with the Machine Technician to resolve equipment problems.
• Clean equipment as required to ensure proper operation.
• Break down scrap packages.
• Work effectively within small teams.
• Complete scrap tickets, daily production sheets, and hourly goal board updates accurately.
• Maintain production pace and standards.
• Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area.
• Practice 5Ss.
