About The Position

A Machine Operator 1 operates a single machine in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires effective teamwork and communication, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safe and accurate operation of bakery equipment, and maintenance of GMP standards. Equipment may vary by facility. The position works in a manufacturing environment on the PM shift. Physical requirements vary by day and include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling or squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling, repetitive motions, and pushing or pulling carts and equipment. The role may involve walking on unprotected heights and catwalks; employees must not be afraid of heights and must be in good physical condition.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to meet the physical requirements described, including lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and pushing or pulling carts and equipment.
Must not be afraid of heights and must be in good physical condition.
Organizational skills and ability to read, calculate, record, and monitor mixing information.
Ability to hear, understand instructions, and see.

Responsibilities

Operate a single machine safely and accurately.
Perform mixing and depositing tasks, including cream mixing and icing mixing.
Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain GMP standards.
Read and follow formulations, calculate batter time and length, record batter information and exceptions, and compute exceptions.
Monitor two machines and identify the stage of mixing for each.
Make batter adjustments and add weights measured in ounces and pounds.
Identify ingredients in and out of packaging containers.
