Machine Helper - 1st and 3rd Shifts
About The Position
The Machine Helper supports the manufacturing process by assisting machine operators and helping ensure production equipment operates smoothly. The role includes preparing machines for operation, monitoring their performance, and performing routine maintenance to help prevent downtime. The Machine Helper also supports a safe and efficient work environment by following safety protocols and promptly reporting equipment malfunctions. Working closely with the production team, this position helps optimize workflow, support quality control, and meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Able to read a tape measure and understand plus-or-minus fractions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine operation procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery and basic maintenance techniques.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles.
- Workplace safety or machine operation certification is a plus.
- Attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators in setting up and operating manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor machines during operation to detect irregularities or malfunctions.
- Clean and lubricate machines and perform basic routine maintenance to support optimal performance.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products as required by the production process.
- Follow safety guidelines and promptly report safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of machine performance and maintenance activities.
- Support the production team in meeting daily output goals and quality standards.
