About The Position

Machine Helpers assist operators in the Corrugating Department. The work may include setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment; inspecting finished products; and performing general cleanup. The department turns recycled paper into corrugated boxes for shipment to customers.

The role requires the ability to read and follow instructions, communicate effectively, read a tape measure with speed and accuracy, apply high school-level math concepts, and use common-sense reasoning to carry out written, oral, or graphic instructions.

The work environment frequently involves wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, and usually loud noise. The position is based at Pratt (Beloit Corrugating), LLC in Beloit, Wisconsin, and is identified as a third-shift position. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour plus shift differential, with potential pay increases after 90 days and six months based on performance and attendance.

Requirements

• Able to read and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to apply concepts of high school math.
• Able to use common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or graphic instructions.
• Regularly able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance from another worker.
• Able to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly; use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms frequently; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
