About The Position

Smurfit Westrock’s Greer, South Carolina plant is seeking an experienced machine helper to support production of corrugated boxes according to customer specifications. The role assists the machine operator with production setup and helps maintain production during each run. The posting lists the shift as 2nd shift, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m., and pay as $20.86 per hour.

Requirements

• At least one year of manufacturing experience in a high-volume setting.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds; navigate stairs; and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and management.
• Maintain good attendance.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the machine operator with setting up the machine for production runs, including sheets and dies.
• Follow applicable standard operating procedures and instructions safely and accurately.
• Maintain general knowledge and understanding of production processes and equipment.
• Perform routine adjustments during production runs and maintain production throughout the run.
• Complete assigned work effectively and on schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
