About The Position

The Machine Attendant sets up and operates machines, completing changeovers as needed according to the schedule. The role involves checking that products are formed and sealed properly, adjusting the machine for product types and sealing issues, and handling defective or mislabeled products. The attendant also re-feeds or changes forming and sealing film rolls, which can weigh up to 80 pounds. The shift runs from 1:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Additional pay is provided for hours worked during specified evening and overnight periods.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude to make machine adjustments.
• Demonstrated attention to detail when inspecting products and returning improperly sealed or mislabeled products to the line.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform repetitive grasping and wrist and hand rotation.
• Ability to lift 35–40 pounds.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
• Maintain management standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and begin running machines at the beginning of the shift, performing changeovers as needed according to the schedule.
• Ensure that the machine forms and seals products properly.
• Adjust the machine as required based on product type and sealing issues.
• Open products that were not sealed properly or were mislabeled, and return defective product to the line.
• Re-feed or change forming and sealing film rolls on the machine.

Benefits

• Additional $0.20 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m.
• Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. and 4:59 a.m.
