About The Position

SerKy Consulting is hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses for full-time correctional healthcare roles at the Beto, Michael, Coffield, and Powledge Units in East Texas. The position pays $39 per hour and follows a 4/3 rotating schedule. Nurses may work across clinic, inpatient, outpatient, medication administration, wound care, cell-side care, emergency room, and critical care settings.

Day shifts run from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, and night shifts run from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Selected candidates will complete standard healthcare credentialing before starting, including a drug screen, physical, immunization records, and a TB test. SerKy Consulting states it will guide candidates through the process.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited LVN program.
• Hold an active Texas LVN license or a compact license valid in Texas.
• Have at least 1 year of Med-Surg or LTAC experience.
• Hold current AHA BLS certification.
• Hold IV Therapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures for incarcerated patients.
• Interpret physician orders and administer prescribed medications.
• Assist physicians with sick call and assess patients during sick call when a physician is not present.
• Check and record vital signs, apply surgical dressings, and provide emergency first aid.
• Report reactions to treatments and medications, and changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition.
• Provide patient health education and discharge planning.
• Advise correctional staff on patient health needs as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records, and check and order supplies.
• Consult with a supervisor on complex cases.
