The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care and clinical support for patients in a healthcare setting. The LVN assists in the delivery of patient care for individuals who are ill, injured, or seeking preventive health services. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, physician, or other licensed healthcare provider, the LVN performs clinical procedures, monitors patient conditions, and supports the healthcare team in implementing treatment plans. The UNT Health Clinical Practice Group’s Center for Older Adults provides comprehensive care plans that help prevent and manage the chronic diseases and long-term illnesses that may accompany the aging process. Services include: Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, Cognitive and neuropsychological testing in Fort Worth, Primary care, Alzheimer’s and Dementia evaluation and treatment, Well care for older adults, Onsite care at several of Fort Worth’s continuing care retirement communities, Palliative care, Physical therapy, Chronic care management (CCM services), Neurology consultations for brain health evaluation, memory loss, dementia and movement disorders, and Advance Care Planning.
