About The Position

The LVN/LPN provides direct and indirect patient care services in Medical Surgical - Oncology. The role uses technical and manual skills within the scope of practice to address patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs, and to meet the communication needs of patients and their families. The LVN/LPN works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position is at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and is scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using technical and manual skills within the scope of practice.
• Address the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care.
• Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
• Work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the emergency room setting.
