About The Position
The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lunch & Bus Ground Supervisor. This role involves providing supervision for students during before and after school hours, lunch breaks, and for students boarding or disembarking school buses. The SRCE is committed to supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success within safe, equitable, and inclusive environments. The Centre serves approximately 5,948 students across 20 schools and 375 pre-primary children at 14 locations in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia, encompassing the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to provide personal and physical care to students
- Current certification in First/CPR or willing to obtain prior to employment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must comply with SRCE policies and procedures
- Experience working with children or youth in a professional or volunteer capacity
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for students before and after school, during lunch and/or noon hour break for such times as are required and indicated by school administration.
- Provide supervision to students getting on or off the bus before commencement of school and after school is dismissed.
- Report to the principal or designate any problem that might occur during the time of supervision.
- Other related duties as assigned.
