About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a customer-focused Lube Technician. The role involves learning and performing oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance, including replacing wiper blades and air filters and checking tire pressure. The position suits people with varied backgrounds and experience levels; training is provided. The work offers a customer-service environment similar to restaurants or retail, with opportunities to learn new skills and pursue a career path toward shop management.

Requirements

• Must gain a strong knowledge of the company’s oils and services.
• Must maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
• May need to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
• Must remain alert and aware of surroundings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate with the public.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and grease chassis fittings.
• Wash windshields and adjust tire pressure.
• Inspect and top off fluids.
• Assist customers in selecting oil types and other services.
• Deliver excellent verbal and written customer service.
• Process payment for services performed.
• Perform coolant exchanges and fill services.
• Restock and maintain floor inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom.
