About The Position

The Alice Center in Malone, New York, is seeking a per diem LPN to provide resident-focused care in a supportive skilled nursing environment. The position has no committed hours and is not benefit eligible. Per diem staff must work at least two 8-hour shifts per pay period, including two weekend shifts per month, for 16 hours total per pay period. Weekend hours are defined as Friday at 10 p.m. through Monday at 6 a.m. Staff must also work at least one 8-hour shift each year on a minor holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day) and one 8-hour shift on a major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s). If a per diem staff member calls out on a weekend, the shift must be made up within one month. The role offers shift differentials totaling $5.50 per hour for evening shifts and $7.00 per hour for night shifts, in addition to base pay. This is a bargaining union position.

Requirements

Current LPN license in New York State.
Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
Maintain mandatory education requirements.
Current BLS certification.
Work at least two 8-hour shifts per pay period, including two weekend shifts per month (16 hours total per pay period).
Work at least one 8-hour shift annually on a minor holiday and one 8-hour shift annually on a major holiday.
Make up a weekend shift within one month if calling out on a weekend.

Nice To Haves

Experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care to residents during evening hours and weekends.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), administer medications, and monitor their health.
Ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents.
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
Maintain mandatory education requirements and current BLS certification.
Meet per diem shift and holiday coverage requirements.
