LPN – Skilled Nursing
About The Position
The Alice Center in Malone, New York, is seeking a per diem Licensed Practical Nurse to provide resident-focused care in a supportive skilled nursing environment. The role offers variable scheduling and shift differentials of $5.50 per hour for evening shifts and $7.00 per hour for night shifts, in addition to base pay. The position has no committed standard hours and is not benefit eligible; per diem staff are scheduled for at least two 8-hour shifts per pay period, including two weekend shifts per month. Weekend hours are defined as Friday at 10 p.m. through Monday at 6 a.m. Per diem staff must also work at least one 8-hour shift per year on a minor holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day) and one 8-hour shift per year on a major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s). Staff must maintain mandatory education requirements and current BLS certification. If a per diem staff member calls out on a weekend, the shift must be made up within one month. This is a bargaining union position.
Requirements
- Current LPN license in New York State.
- Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Work at least two 8-hour shifts per pay period, including two weekend shifts per month.
- Work at least one 8-hour shift annually on a minor holiday and one 8-hour shift annually on a major holiday.
- Make up a weekend shift within one month if calling out for that shift.
- Maintain mandatory education requirements and current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care to residents during evening hours and weekends.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, administer medications, and monitor health.
- Help ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Work required per diem shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage.
- Maintain mandatory education requirements and current BLS certification.
