About The Position

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking an experienced, motivated, professional, and friendly Triage LPN to facilitate patient care. The position works closely with the RN and Nurse Manager and supports coordination and delivery of care across the organization's cancer and women's centers. This is a full-time, day-shift role on a Monday–Friday schedule, with travel between offices required.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience working as an LPN in an oncology or other healthcare setting.
Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
IV certification.
Current Arizona LPN State Board of Nursing license.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and HCPCS coding.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and the Internet.
Ability to type, operate a computer, and use office equipment.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Willingness to travel between offices.

Knowledge of diagnostic testing and radiation procedures.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the RN and Nurse Manager.
Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in patient charts using a computer.
Assist the physician and RN with coordinating patient care, completing forms, and communicating with other medical personnel.
Prepare charts for IV and oral therapy education in conjunction with the RN.
Obtain prior authorizations for oral therapies.
Refill oral chemotherapy prescriptions in conjunction with the RN.
Schedule first chemotherapy appointments.
Educate patients about oral therapy, injections, and non-chemotherapy IV medications.
Administer non-chemotherapy agents intravenously and administer injections.
Check charts for the most recent dictation associated with the last visit and verify authorization and laboratory results.
Record appropriate information in assessments.
Call patients with PT/INR results and new directions after receiving them from the provider.
Perform other duties as requested by a supervisor, administrator, or physician.
