About The Position

Thriveworks is seeking provisionally licensed individuals pursuing Virginia licensure as an LPC to provide a mix of telehealth and face-to-face mental health sessions in Newport News, Virginia. The role is for a clinician approved by the board as a Resident in Counseling who is seeking independent licensure and resides in Virginia within 45 minutes of the office. The clinician works in the office during a probationary period, then transitions to a hybrid model with 50% in-office and 50% remote work. Clinicians provide compassionate, evidence-based care to a varied client population, potentially including couples and children. They are expected to maintain availability for at least 25 sessions and 30 hours per week, support measurable client progress, and contribute positively to a clinical community. The role requires graduate or postgraduate counseling-setting experience treating depression and anxiety. Experience independently conducting intakes and diagnosing under a licensed supervisor according to the DSM-5 is preferred. Thriveworks provides administrative support with credentialing, billing, scheduling, and marketing, as well as paid orientation and training. The company states that clinicians can build a full caseload within 90 days of credentialing. Scheduling is flexible across seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Clinicians have access to live clinical support, monthly case consultations, and an online and in-person community of more than 2,700 licensed providers. A competitive ramp stipend may be available to clinicians offering 30 or more hours of availability per week.
