About The Position

The LP Delivery Driver is responsible for outside sales of propane gas to residential, commercial, and farm accounts, from initial customer contact through delivery. The role may also include setting tanks and providing service. The driver delivers propane safely and punctually, provides customer service and information, builds a customer base within an assigned sales territory, maintains required records, operates a truck according to safety procedures, and performs installation, removal, and service as needed. The position also provides backup to the Energy department as needed.

Requirements

• Have an acceptable driving record.
• Be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Have proficient computer skills.
• Have proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Be detail-oriented and able to prioritize.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to walk 1 to 5 miles, climb steps and ladders, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Be able to bend and climb in and out of the truck.

Nice To Haves

• Outside sales experience and knowledge of the territory.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane to customer locations efficiently, punctually, and safely.
• Provide exceptional customer service during daily interactions, including supplying service information and answering inquiries.
• Build the customer base within the sales territory using various sales techniques, including prospecting and cold calls.
• Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operate the truck according to established safety procedures.
• Perform installation, removal, and service as needed.
• Provide backup to the Energy department as needed.
