About The Position

The LP Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and addresses internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. It also supports investigations, surveillance, evidence handling, legal activities, and store shrink-reduction efforts while promoting customer service, honesty, integrity, and a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
• Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and shoplifter procedures.
• Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
• Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
• Provide customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Observe, apprehend, or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
• Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed.
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
