About The Position
The City of McCook, Nebraska, is accepting applications and resumes for one Detective in accordance with the McCook Civil Service Act. Applicants must pass a background investigation and be eligible for hire under applicable law. Written and oral examinations are required; written exam scores will be considered as part of the overall selection process. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. The written exam date has not yet been determined, and eligible candidates will be notified when it is established. The position has a 42-hour work week. Salary is $29.333–$39.066, dependent on qualifications. The role includes a full benefits package, including health insurance and 13 paid holidays. All City of McCook employment positions are subject to Veterans Preference.
Requirements
- At least 36 months of full-time experience as a certified police officer.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Must be eligible for hire as provided by law.
- Must complete written and oral examinations.
