About The Position

Pico Propane and Fuels, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, is seeking a Dual (RF/LP) Delivery Driver. The role loads, transports, and delivers refined fuels and propane using an applicable tractor and trailer, and assists with hauling equipment on a flatbed trailer. Drivers are expected to prioritize service, efficiency, and safety. The position requires a commercial driver’s license with hazmat and tanker endorsements and includes transporting bulk petroleum products from remote locations to pipeline injection points. The work is normally performed outdoors, where exposure to extreme heat or cold, fumes, airborne particles, and gases is common. The position may require evening and weekend work as needed. Physical activities include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting and moving weights of 10 to 80 pounds, frequently climbing in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, and operating equipment. Pre-employment DOT medical certification, drug and/or alcohol testing, a physical abilities test, screening, and a background check are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
Meet all DOT requirements.
Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
No more than one moving violation in the previous two years.
At least three years of tractor-and-trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution.
At least one year of tanker experience within the last five years.
Ability to use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, web-based maps, and/or physical maps effectively and efficiently.
Ability to maintain accurate logs and records.
Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of 10 to 80 pounds for approximately 90% of the work shift.
Ability to climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle multiple times per work shift.
Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including grasping ability and visual acuity to operate equipment, including at night.
Ability to sit frequently and reach with hands and arms; ability to speak and hear.
Meet pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and pass drug and/or alcohol testing, a physical abilities test, pre-employment screening, and a background check.

Responsibilities

Comply with city, state, and federal regulations.
Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload products.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment used to transport hazardous materials.
Apply knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points.
Plan and accomplish operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex.
Gauge tank volumes and test product quality and specifications while transporting bulk petroleum products from remote locations to pipeline injection points using a Class 8 tractor and tanker trailer.
Monitor truck maintenance needs, conduct minor repairs, and complete daily DOT truck inspections to maintain vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
Document truck inspections, hours of service, products transported, and miles driven accurately.
Ensure delivery vehicles receive service according to maintenance schedules and report larger service needs and mechanical issues to a supervisor.
Assist with hauling equipment on a flatbed trailer.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
