About The Position

Soarin Group is seeking Low Voltage Cable Technicians in the Lincoln/Omaha and surrounding areas. The role provides technical assistance to customers, installs and maintains cabling and network equipment, tests and certifies cables and telecom equipment, and documents work through an incident management system. Technicians help troubleshoot issues with vendors and senior team members, follow and offer feedback on network and security protocols, and work to ensure customer satisfaction. The position suits someone comfortable in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment who can learn new technologies and contribute to improving procedures.

Requirements

Hands-on experience as a cable technician or in a similar technical role.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including switches, firewalls, LAN, and WAN environments.
Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving ability.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and positive demeanor.
A proven track record in high-traffic, customer-focused environments.

Responsibilities

Respond to support requests and provide technical assistance by phone, email, or on-site.
Install, change, and maintain cabling, hardware, software, and network equipment.
Test and certify cables and telecom equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation for work performed.
Use the incident management system to track service requests, troubleshooting steps, and communications.
Follow established network and security protocols and provide feedback to improve them.
Immediately report potential threats or security concerns to senior staff.
Collaborate with vendors and senior team members to troubleshoot issues or source equipment.
Stay current with new technologies and best practices, independently and with guidance from senior staff.
Ensure customer satisfaction, particularly in fast-paced settings.
Gather information, diagnose issues, conduct research, and confirm service resolution with customers.
Recognize issues requiring escalation or referral and act accordingly.
Share customer feedback and suggestions with internal teams to support improvement.
Identify and recommend improvements to procedures and processes.
