About The Position

Opelika Ford is seeking an outgoing and dependable Lot Porter to maintain the dealership lot. The role involves inspecting vehicles for damage, moving customer vehicles around the lot and service areas, keeping vehicles clean and damage-free, and assisting with cleaning and custodial duties in the shop and lot areas. The position requires working in a non-climate-controlled environment through summer heat and winter cold and driving both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles. Experience as a lot attendant or knowledge of automotive servicing and repair is a plus.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
Ability to safely operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces.
Neat, clean, and professional appearance.
Strong customer service skills.
Basic computer and internet skills.
Ability and willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including summer heat and winter cold.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience preferred.
Experience as a lot attendant and/or knowledge of automotive servicing and repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

Keep vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed and in accordance with dealership display standards.
Move vehicles to maintain the flow of traffic.
Make key tags for vehicles.
Retrieve vehicles for customers; wait at the vehicle and thank customers for their business.
Help maintain a clean and safe service area by performing general cleaning duties, including trash removal and sweeping.
Follow all safety and security procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
