About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role conducts apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives, and identifies and resolves internal and external theft. It also supports shrink reduction goals and programs, encourages Associates to use shrink reduction resources, and promotes safety awareness to help maintain a safe environment. The position requires providing courteous, knowledgeable customer service; maintaining confidentiality and a culture of honesty and integrity; participating in investigations and surveillance as assigned; and completing paperwork accurately and promptly. The Detective maintains appropriate evidence, understands law enforcement procedures, and participates professionally in legal activities as needed. The role coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management and follows all labor laws, policies, and procedures. The starting pay range is USD $17.00 to $20.40 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines, ensuring they are consistent with store theft activity.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft; observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and promptly.
Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Follow all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, and encourage Associate use of shrink reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
