About The Position

The Logistics Specialist coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules. The role reviews and distributes production, work, and shipment schedules and compiles reports on inventory levels and costs. This is a six-month contract position based onsite in Santa Ana, California.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8–10 years of related experience.
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to analyze manufacturing, labor, and material costs.
• Strong ability to accurately document and record customer or client information.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
• Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
• Review and approve production schedules, work orders, staffing tables, and related documents to determine personnel and materials requirements and priorities.
• Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss required changes.
• Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or other interruptions.
• Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
• Coordinate production and shipping activities with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers, and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
