About The Position
The Logistics Specialist Middle Mile Carrier Escalations supports a large transportation network by helping carrier partners succeed and ensuring freight is delivered quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. The role combines data analysis, dispute resolution, communication, and hands-on operational work to improve carrier performance and customer-facing logistics programs. The position is fully onsite in Nashville, Tennessee. The regular schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with five 8-hour workdays each week. During the first week, training is typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Day-to-day work is operational and data-driven, involving carrier performance, ticketing systems and queues, and data tools. The role is a contract position and is described as offering potential future career growth based on business needs.
Requirements
- 13 years of experience in dispute resolution, transportation, customer support, or operations within a B2B environment, as stated in the posting.
- Experience managing large data sets and using them to drive performance and process improvements.
- Entry-level proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office, including synthesizing data and typing quickly.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with data management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with carriers, primarily by email, to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Operational experience working with systems such as ticketing platforms and queues.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written communication skills for clear, professional email correspondence.
- Ability to apply basic mathematics and analytical thinking to logistics and performance data.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, business, or a related field.
- 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of management experience.
- Experience using SQL to query and analyze data.
- Familiarity with QuickSight, Hubble, or similar business intelligence and data management systems.
- Experience using load management or carrier management systems.
- Ability to use large data sets to build reports, dashboards, and analyses.

Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve carrier performance score discrepancies within the Transportation Services (ATS) network.
- Partner with internal teams to improve processes, service levels, technology solutions, carrier performance, engagement, and growth.
- Help develop and deliver programs, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards for data-driven decisions across customer-facing logistics programs.
- Pull and synthesize data from multiple databases and systems, including Excel, QuickSight, Hubble, SQL, and other data management platforms.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, improve performance, and recommend process changes in transportation and logistics operations.
- Communicate with carriers in writing to address issues, resolve disputes, and improve service quality.
- Validate data accuracy, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support operational decisions using basic mathematics and analytical thinking.
- Manage workload and resolve carrier-related issues promptly using ticketing systems and queues.
- Apply ownership, bias for action, sound judgment, and a focus on delivering results in daily work.
- Support middle mile program management by tracking progress, documenting processes, and contributing to program enhancements.
