The Receiving Specialist is a critical member of the Inventory Department and supports the GDC operations in the inspection and receiving process for all inbound aircraft components to UAM's global distribution center. UAM guarantees 100% quality on all removed components, with a no damage guarantee to clients and customers unless damage found has been communicated and approved by customer.  As a Receiving Specialist you are responsible for maintaining these high standards through the verification and inventory process. The GDC Receiving Specialist reports to the facility Sr. Logistics Specialist in the absence of the Logistics Manager.  As the GDC Receiving Specialist you should be engaged in a quality receiving process including: Maintain digital component list for received and reconciled components per consignment. Recognize and understand UAM’s Quality Control Manual, Receiving and Shipping SOPs and adhere to all related policies and procedures therein. Maintains the existing quality control process and make incremental improvements to increase efficiency. Maintains the existing inventory process and makes incremental improvements to increase efficiency. Take primary ownership for the development and improvement of word-class material handling processes. Help to create a culture of excellence in the workplace where teamwork and active problem-solving result in continuous improvement throughout the operation. Communicate all delays on receiving to Assistant Director. Abide by company policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment. Receive and/or reconcile all parts with the highest quality as possible. Work well in a group and handle large tasks with minimum guidance. Work in a variable of climate conditions. Task and duties will vary, therefore, to be a successful Aircraft Technician you must be flexible and a team player. Ability to travel when needed to offsite projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks as assigned by the Logistics Manager and/or Sr. Logistics Manager to help ensure projects are conducted IAW OSHA and all, industry (AFRA/ASA), local, state and federal regulations (FAA).
  • Champion the UAM brand values, people values, community initiatives, demonstrating the vision for others, and acting as a role model both within UAM and externally.
  • Help to champion positive moral around the facility by: Showing up to work with a healthy, positive attitude. Maintaining a positive work ethic throughout the day. Be a positive influence on your fellow team members by building them up, not belittling them.
  • Assist in material control and efficiency and labor efficiency.
  • Help to eliminate fraud waste and abuse by using only the material and supplies you need to complete a task.  Any left-over material should be placed back into supply.
  • Stay constant and consistent on tasks assigned, stay busy not complacent.
  • Receive parts as they are brought into the warehouse.  If no parts are available to ship – notify Logistics Manager for additional duties which may include being sent to ADC for logistics support.
  • Continue to strive and exceed expected receiving goals.  Strive to be the receiving example – the standard at which others are measured.
  • Maintain a facility of safety and ensure a safety-oriented culture.
  • Properly use proper PPE as outlined in the GDC Job Safety Analysis.
  • Ensure PPE is in proper working condition – defects need to be reported to Sr. Logistics Specialist.
  • Inform other team members of unsafe working conditions/practices when noticed.
  • Look out for each other.
